NYAYA

Terms of Use

Version 1.1 · Effective date: 12 October 2026

Accepting these terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Vinit Khandal, an individual, based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India (“we”, “us”), who operates the Legal World website (legalworld.site) and its legal research and practice service, Nyaya. By signing in or otherwise using Nyaya on the web or in the mobile app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Nyaya.

Nyaya may later be operated by a company. If that happens we will update these terms and tell you before the change takes effect.

If you use Nyaya for a law firm, chamber or other organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

Who can use Nyaya

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. Nyaya is built for advocates, their clerks, juniors and staff, other legal professionals and law students. Anyone may read the public legal library for research.

Using Nyaya does not create a lawyer–client relationship with us, and it does not replace your own professional obligations, including those under the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bar Council of India rules.

Your account and security

  • Sign in with your own Google account. One account per person; do not share your account or let others use your session.
  • Keep your Google account, phone and computer secure, and sign out on shared devices. Invite colleagues through the team feature instead of sharing access.
  • Tell us promptly at vinit224488@gmail.com if you believe your account has been misused. You are responsible for activity under your account that results from not keeping it secure.
  • We may suspend an account to stop misuse, protect other users or comply with the law.

Plans, trial and limits

Nyaya does not take payments today. New workspaces start with a free trial, and every plan has limits — for example on matters, colleagues and file storage — shown in the app.

We may introduce paid plans or change plans and limits. We will give you reasonable notice in the app before any charge applies to you, and nothing will be charged without your agreement. When a trial ends or a plan is lowered, you may not be able to add new items beyond the new limits, but your existing data is never deleted because of it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Nyaya for anything unlawful, fraudulent or in breach of professional rules or court orders, including disclosing sealed, confidential or protected-identity material;
  • scrape, bulk-download or copy the service or its data by automated means, except through features we provide;
  • try to get around rate limits, plan limits or security, test vulnerabilities without our written permission, or access another person’s account or workspace;
  • upload malware or files you have no right to share, or overload or disrupt the service;
  • harass or abuse anyone, or use client contact details, WhatsApp or calendar features to send messages a client has not agreed to receive, spam or unsolicited promotion;
  • submit false, misleading or infringing content to the public library.

Your content and client data

You own what you put into Nyaya. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process and display it only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service for you and the people you share it with. For suggestions approved into the public library, you also allow us to publish them, with attribution removed, as part of the public record.

For your clients’ personal data you are the data fiduciary and we process it on your behalf. You are responsible for having a lawful basis, such as consent, to enter it, share it and contact clients; for its accuracy; for your duty of confidentiality; and for what you download, print or share outside Nyaya.

Dates, hearings and deadlines are entered by you and your team. Nyaya does not calculate limitation or other legal deadlines and does not guarantee reminders reach you.

Research is not legal advice

Nyaya is a research aid. Court records, judgments, laws, translations, summaries, outlines and any computer-generated or AI-assisted output may be incomplete, out of date, mistranslated or wrong, and may not reflect later amendments, appeals or overruling.

Nothing in Nyaya is legal advice. Verify everything against certified copies, official gazettes and court websites, and use your own professional judgement, before relying on it or citing it.

Public data and attribution

The public library is drawn from official sources such as court websites, eCourts directories and India Code, from open datasets published under licences such as Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0), and from reviewed contributions. Those sources keep their own rights and terms; we credit them next to the material, and where a dataset is used under CC BY 4.0 we show the attribution it requires.

Public judgments can contain the names of parties and others as published by the courts. If you think material should be corrected or removed, use the suggestion feature or write to vinit224488@gmail.com.

Third-party services

Nyaya works with services run by others, such as Google sign-in, WhatsApp, your phone’s dialler and calendar apps. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for them. When you open WhatsApp from Nyaya, you decide whether to send the message.

When WhatsApp Business messaging is switched on, Nyaya sends messages from a Nyaya number on your instruction. You must record each client’s consent truthfully before sending, stop when a client withdraws it, and follow Meta’s WhatsApp Business policies. Meta may refuse, delay or charge for messages, and we do not guarantee delivery.

Availability and changes to the service

Nyaya is in a pilot (beta) phase and is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. There is no uptime guarantee: the service may be slow, interrupted or unavailable, and features may change or be withdrawn. Keep your own copies of anything important, such as hearing dates.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, clients, reputation or data, arising from your use of Nyaya — including losses caused by a missed date or hearing, an incorrect or outdated record, or the service being unavailable.

Our total liability for all claims relating to Nyaya is limited to the amount you paid us for Nyaya in the 12 months before the claim arose, or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Indian law, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or the DPDP Act, 2023 that cannot be waived.

Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for reasonable losses and costs arising from claims by others — including your clients — that result from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of Nyaya, or content and client data you entered without a lawful basis.

Suspension and closing an account

You can stop using Nyaya and delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users or the service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Before an account is closed by us, or if we ever stop offering Nyaya, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data, unless the law or an urgent security reason prevents it. You can export your data from your profile at any time.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law, the courts at Jaipur have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about Nyaya. Please write to us first; most concerns can be resolved quickly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Nyaya changes. For important changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect, and signed-in users will be asked to accept the new version to continue. The version number and effective date are shown at the top. If you do not agree, you can export your data and close your account.
